As a contribution to sustainable forest management, this paper describes the use of remote sensing as an input to a distributed model developed using a Geographical Information System (GIS) to predict erosion hazards linked to different types of forest management. Details of the model are provided along with a description of how model inputs were derived and an indication of initial results and testing.
