If satellite communication must use an electric wave, it is important for us to use the limited frequency spectrum effectively. Since the demand of frequencies has been increasing, its exploitation of new frequency is indispensable. As exploitation of new frequency, the research and development about the high frequency, such as 10 GHz or over, have been done for high capacity satellite communication system. However, using high frequency has some problems. There are some factors which reduce the quality of the satellite communication. The propagation loss of the electric waves in free space due to the absorption and scattering by rain must be taken into consideration. This paper shows the result of time series estimation of rain-induced attenuation using the simple dual-frequency radiometer.
