In wireless sensor networks, much correlated data has been collected and transmitted to the sink. However, since too much redundancy exists in the correlated data, it will cost more and unnecessary energy consumption. Slepian-Wolf coding is a source coding technique that can completely remove the data redundancy, however, a perfect complete knowledge of the correlation between the sources should be as a prior of it which is very difficult to implement. In this paper, a clustered Slepian-Wolf coding mechanisM is proposed. Firstly, a grid based data correlation clustering mechanism(GDC2) is proposed, by sending the cluster head's reading, the member node select the node as its head which has the minimum difference with its own reading and relative short distance. Secondly, the intra-cluster rate allocation of Slepian-Wolf coding is discussed analogized with the whole network rate allocation. Finally, through Theoretical analysis it can be proved that the proposed mechanism can achieve a good energy saving.
