摘要

The height data from male tertiary students are presented and compared to other data often used by ergonomists in Australia. The 141 male students measured between 1997 and 2001 had an average height of 1765 mm (s.d = 67.7) which is significantly different from other sources. The differences could be the result of secular trend effects. This sample suggests that the most appropriate data to use for young educated Australians might be Pheasant's (1998) British 19-25 years old dataset. Also, for young Australians, data from different Australian cities indicate that the populations may be different as the result of different migration patterns.
