The success of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) isrndependent on many factors, including patient selection,rnimplant design, implant positioning, soft tissue balancing,rnand surgical technique. Postoperative limb alignment andrnimplant positioning are the most important determinants ofrnoutcome and longevity.rnMechanical alignment systems in total knee arthroplastyrnhave fundamental problems that limit their ultimate accuracy.rnIt is difficult to determine accurately, with standard manualrninstrumentation.rnSo computer-based alignment systems have beenrndeveloped to address the limitations inherent in mechanicalrninstrumentation systems used for TKA, and computerassistedrnorthopedic surgery is becoming increasinglyrnpopular recently. rnIn Korea, robot has been used in more than 2000 TKAs,rnbeginning in as early as 2001. However, we are not aware ofrnmany studies that have established whether robot-assistedrnTKA in alignment accuracy are associated with clinical andrnradiological results.rnThe objective of our study were to access the short termrnresults of robot-assisted total knee arthroplasty in clinicalrnand radiological aspects.
