摘要

Palladium (Pd) is a noble metal presenting weak reactivity with alumina. As a result, Pd does not wet this oxide and adheres weakly on it. In this investigation, the improvement of Pd wetting and adhesion on the Al_2O_3 system by additions of Mg (up to 12at%) is studied by the sessile drop technique. Experiments are performed at temperatures close to 1800K under Ar using both monocrystalline and polycrystalline α-alumina. Wetting results are discussed taking into account adsorption of Mg and the formation of 3D reaction layers at the Pd/Al_2O_3 interface.
