If hardware resets are performed in orbit, the state of the Start up routine program becmes the same as when dummy MSDOS (A>:/) is initiated by the small satellites board. Meanwhile, software(application proram) is coded onthe ground in C+++or C, recomplied, converted into Interl HEX files using the Mpas files, and output ot the RS-232C of a personal computer. The programs are forwarded to the satellite board in packet transmission (HDLC). The forwarded programs are relocated, then restarted in software. Each CPU board onthe satellite is independent and operates regardless of the status of the other CPU boards. THis featue makes it possible to sens the designated program to the specified board. The option of using C++or C on DOS/V machines, or on sysems such as the NEC 9800 series, and the ability to develop programs in MS-DOS create many ramifications, offer a wide audience of scientists the opportunity to participate in the small-satellite program and conduct research using these small satellites. The cost of an entire ground system is remarkably modest, greatly contributing to low overall costs for the on-board satellite system.
