摘要

In contrast to time-consuming and labour-intensive visual inspections or manually performed local NDE methods like ultrasonic testing, one might be interested in an immediate evaluation of the structural health, e.g. after abnormal loading like a seismic event. Vibration-based global monitoring is such a tool: the structure must be equipped with vibration sensors and changes in the vibration signature can be traced back to the location and extent of the damage by solving an inverse problem. In this paper four different model-based approaches are discussed which use mode shapes and eigenfrequencies as measurement information and they are applied to a realistic two-storey structure. An artificial seismic loading caused cracks at different locations. The ability of the methods to find the damage is investigated.
