To improve the comprehensive properties of09CuPCrNi weathering steel,rare earth elements were added to control the precipitation behavior of inclusions.A couple thermodynamic model of inclusions precipitation and elements segregation was established to quantificationally evaluate the precipitation behavior of inclusions in 09CuPCrNi weathering steel.The effects of types and addition amount of rare earth on the precipitation behavior of inclusions were investigated by the model.The existence state and variation of rare earth in clean09CuPCrNi steel were further discussed.The results showed that the types of inclusions in 09CuPCrNi steel transform from Al2O3,Ce2O2 S and MnS to CeN,Ce3S4 and Ce2O2 S with increasing the addition of Ce.And with the increase of La addition,the types of inclusions alter from A12O3,MnS and LaAlO3 to LaN,LaS and LaAlO3 in 09CuPCrNi steel.When the additions of Ce and La respectively arrive to 0.025% and0.01%,Al2O3 can not precipitate.MnS can not precipitate when the additions of Ce or La arrive to 0.045%.The precipitation temperature of MnS decrease with the Ce or La addition increasing.
