Due to strict environmental regulations, there have been increasing requirements to use halogen free flame retardant (HFFR) materials for automotive wire insulation. HFFR compounds (PE/EVA base) were considered for automotive wire insulation in this study. Three different polyolefin compatibilizers were used and their effects on the mechanical and flame retardant properties were investigated.
