摘要

The importance of small antennas with broadband radiation characteristics is ever increasing. In this paper, different types of planar antennas are discussed and comparisons are drawn. Theoretical results are backed with outcomes of experiments. The printed antennas of interest are: dual-band printed dipole antenna, log-periodic dipole antenna (LPDA), and spiral antennas. The antennas with dipoles perpendicular to the feedline and dipoles placed at an angle of 45 degrees (forming a loop) as well as spiral antennas with varying metal fillings are analyzed. Furthermore, the influence of the reflector position and its shape is determined. The antennas are universal and meet the requirements for various applications: from base stations, through internal laptop antennas, to external antennas for portable wireless devices.
