摘要

The closure is an important component of the optical fiber cable network, which protects the connection between each section of optical fiber cables as well as quality of communication transmission. The termite resides in wide ranging areas between latitude 45 degrees south and latitude 45 degrees north. The seal material of the closure is one kind of favorite food for termite. This article will first provide an overview introduction to the hazard of the termites to optical fiber cable network line and the species and habits of the termites, then give a detailed introduction of field termite proof experiment method and findings analysis to the cable and closure, different seal material, closure structure and cable are tested and compared. Finally, the paper give some discussion on termite proof test method and give a proposal on how to select the closure and cable and how to take measure to prevent the termites erosion on optical fiber cable network lines.
