摘要

Cooperation of Japan and Russia on the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS RS) can be an example of the international partners' fruitful teamwork on carrying out experiments and researches in space on a long-term basis. The first Japanese experiments on the ISS RS became MPAC&SEED (Micro Particles Capturer and Space Environment Exposure Device) on investigation of micrometeorite conditions in the ISS orbit and studying of influence of space environment conditions on some materials and elements of electronics, and also HDTV (High Definition Television) on studying of methods of high definition television use on the ISS in interests of a telemedicine, Earth observation, public affairs. Pocari SWEAT experiment became one of the interesting HDTV applications in area of "space advertising". The second significant stage of the Japanese - Russian cooperation on the ISS became a series of six experiments on proteins crystals growth GCF/JCF (Granada Crystallization Facility/JAXA Crystallization Facility). Five of them are already implemented. In 2004 preparation of the series of JAXA's experiments for growing of so-called photonic crystals under microgravity conditions is started. This nanotechnology project becomes the third direction of two countries cooperation in space. At a stage of study there are some more experiments which have a different degree of technical complexity.
