VIBRATION CONTROL OF FLEXIBLE SOLAR PANEL BY THETHER TENSION

摘要

This paper is devoted to study numerically and experimentally a control method of the vibration of the large flexible solar panel of the Space Solar Power Systems (SSPS). The tether tension is employed as the actuator of the control and the Mission-Function control is used as the control algorithm. In the numerical analysis, the partial differential equation of motion for the flexible solar panel is transformed to the difference equation and then, the vibration is analyzed resulting in a much sophisticated numerical simulator. In the experimental analysis of a simplified model is constructed to analyze the vibration control with the tether tension. The constructions of the numerical simulator and experimental model thus result in such a complex system with hybrid large flexible structure as the SSPS. The results of numerical and experimental analyses show an excellent controlled performance of the present tethered SSPS.
