Scientific evidence demonstrates that current sugars intake is not associated with an increase in disease, obesity etc. Nor does sugars intake necessarily result in caries if there is good personal oral hygiene using fluoride toothpaste. However this evidence hidden in scientific journals is of no value to the future of the industry. It must be used to educate and inform health professionals, policy and the public. This is our challenge.
