摘要

This paper addresses a combustion diagnosis and control system based on an image processing method, introduces the hardware and software construction of the system. Flame video images and fiber optics spectrometry data together with advanced image analysis and artificial intelligence techniques are used to obtain important and direct information for optimal internal control of coal fired furnaces, guiding the operator to adjust air/fuel ratios between individual burners on multi-burner furnaces, and therefore, bringing about the overall optimization of the boiler. This on-line diagnosis and control system offers great potential for improving furnace thermal efficiency, lowering NO_x and carbon monoxide emissions, and improving product quality.
