Isoenzyme patterns of leaf amylase and esterase enzymes have been studied on polyacrylamide/starch gels at various stages of growth of early (CoC 671) midlate (Co 7219) and late (Co 740) maturing commercial sugarcane varieties commonly grown in Maharashtra, India. The electrophoretic variation obtained regarding presence or absence of isoenzyme bands and their intensities as observed from fourth month to tenth month of plant age for three sugarcane varieties maturing at different time is being discussed.
