摘要

A method of the evaluation of the global ductility and overstrength of moment frames is proposed.The method is based on an energy approach,where the elastic energy stored and the plastic energy dissipated in the structure are determined.Various definitions for the yield state and the ultimate state are discussed and a relevant proposal is made.the method is applied to various frames,where the frame geometry,the flexibility of beam-to-column joints,the level of vertical loading and the level of local ductility were varied.Conclusions on the influence of the various parameters on the ductility and the overstrength were drawn.
