Tests with two dry cohesive bulk solids in the true biaxial shear tester have shown that even dry bulk solids show a time dependent behaviour. Although no strain rate dependence for the two investigated materials for the consolidation phase could be observed, the stress course is altered for a short period with a change of the strain rate namely de- or acceleration during consolidation. Furthermore first tests have shown that an increase of the strain rate during consolidation influences the characteristics of the following relaxation.
