Numerous blow-tank-fed pneumatic conveying systems are installed throughout industry, but many of these are operating inefficiently. This is evidenced by blockages, flooding, erratic discharge, ratholing and wire cutting of discharge outlets/valves. Many of the factors that should be considered before installing such systems or when improving the operation of existing ones are addressed in this paper.
