摘要

This paper presents a systematic approach to developing models that relate subjective user satisfaction to product design variables. It is assumed that the user satisfaction depends on how the human interface of a product is designed. Various dimensions of the user satisfaction were classified and modeled by using design variables. Design variables were obtained by decomposing the human interface of a product in a systematic manner. Statistical techniques were used for model building. Consumer products such as audio/visual, office chairs, and cellular phones were analyzed to demonstrate the usefulness of the approach suggested in this study. Resulting models can be used to help designers identify important design variables and predict subjective user satisfaction.
