摘要

This paper presents a study on the integrated optimization of heat pipes and heat conductive continuum.A numerical method is developed for determining the optimal heat pipe locations and continuum topology to achieve best heat transfer efficiency.A heat pipe is an apparatus that could transfer energy efficiently with a very small difference in temperature without the need for an external power supply. The equivalent thermal conductivity of a heat pipe can be hundreds of times higher than those of the best natural heat conductive materials.In this study, discrete components of heat pipes are introduced into the heat dissipation mechanism and a new optimization problem is formulated by considering both the position of heat pipes and the topology of continuum. The original stiffness spreading method (SSM) is modified for the heat transfer problem and improvement of solution efficiency.Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new approach.
