The water sector can participate in developing and operating a future energy system.rnWastewater treatment plants (WWTP) are suitable for the generation of renewable energy. Arnrenewable energy source at WWTP is digester gas or biogas. Synergetic effects at WWTPrnallow implementing the EuWaK concept combined to a WWTP into an innovative energyrnsystem.rnThe EuWaK project1rnis a pilot project in order to develop and test the processing of digesterrngas into biomethane and hydrogen at a WWTP and test the full infrastructure (Pipelines,rnfuelling stations and CHP) for the use of these gases. The EuWaK concept could be arncomponent of an innovative energy system, as the on-going research reveals.
