Results from experimental investigations of water-resistant combined wooden boards for building application are presented in this paper. Water-resistant combined wooden boards are made by combining of one-layer of water-resistant boards from wooden particles (middle layer) and constructive veneers from beech (superficial layer). Modified phenol-formaldehyde resin is used for making the water-resistant boards from particles. Epoxy resin is used as a modifier. Standard phenol-formaldehyde resin is used for veneering the water-resistant particleboards and making the combined boards. The models are made under laboratory conditions, using the mathematical theory for planning the experiment. The experiment is realised using the plan with four variable technological factors. Series of standard tests for stability of forms and dimensions of models and water-resistance are made for defining the quality of models. Mechanical characteristics of models are defined through standard tests for bending strength, modulus of elasticity during bending, strength of re-layering in the middle of the boards and compression strength. Compromise optimization is made for defining the optimum model, which is cheaper compared with multi-layer veneer boards, which are used in building application. The optimal model is of good technical and exploitation characteristics and the same could be recommended for using in practice.
