摘要

With the recent announcement of the construction of an Australian 3GeV synchrotron, "Boomerang 20", the opportunity for the industrial application of HARMST (High Aspect Ratio Micro Structure Technology) designs by local industry is considerable. Early applications are being developed for food packaging, scientific instrumentation, x-ray imaging and sensors for structural monitoring. This paper describes the approach taken by players in Australia to firstly inform and then entice industrial leaders to consider developing products based on HARMST. It describes the establishment of MiniFAB (Aust) Pty. Ltd; a unique approach taken to develop the cluster of skills, infrastructure and businesses required to take developments from the lab bench through to production.
