摘要

A smoothing approximation to the absolute value function is obtained by the Cosh-based function. By means this approximation, the P0 nonlinear complementarity problem is converted into a smooth nonlinear equations and solved by a nonmonotone Newton method. We investigate the boundedness of the iteration sequence generated by the smoothing method. Further extension for cone complementarity problem is also discussed.
