Current distributions in multilayered Bi-223/Ag conductors

The "accordion folding method" is suitable to fabricat Bi-2223/Ag composite conductors. In this work we report on the electrical characterization of individual multilayered Bi-2223/Ag conductors having up to 26 HTS layers (I_c to 640 A at 77K) and larger conductors obtained by paralleling two similar specimens (I_c as high as 1090 A at 77K). The current distribution between paralleled specimens have been estimated by placing voltage taps on both sides of the conductor and the results are presented and discussed.
