1.Introduction In previous studies,the upper-level eddy angular momentum fluxes (EFC) (Deborah et al.,2001) within some distance from the Tropical Cyclone (TC) center are used to indicate the interaction between TCs and upper-level troughs.The EFC are also calculated in this study,and the results show that,when upper-level trough in the mid-latitude,an maximum potential vorticity,or some cyclonic rotation system is close to TC,EFC becomes larger (usually greater than 10ms-1 day-1) and spreads toward TC center,indicating the occurrence of the interaction between upper-level troughs or maximum potential vorticity and TC.
