We examine the relationship polarimetric parameters obtained by polarimetfic radar to properties of solid precipitation particles;that is,category,diameter,shape,and number concentration,obtained by a ground-based particle imaging system.The polafimetric radar was located at Oshimizu,Ishikawa Prefecture,Japan.Polarimetric parameters obtained by the radar were radar reflectivity (Zh),differential reflectivity (Zdr),specific differential phase (Kdp),and correlation coefficient between horizontal and vertical polarization signals (Phv).
