Pushout tests were carried out on APS-TBCs which were heat treated in a vacuum and heat exposed in an air in order to understand the effect of microstructural change on interfacial mechanical properties. Heat treatment and heat exposure were conducted at 1413 K from 10 to 50 hours and at 1173 and 1413 K from 10 to 200 hours, respectively. Yield stress of the BC layer estimated by Vickers hardness decreases and the interfacial shear strength increases with increasing heat treatment time. The TGO thickness increases and yield stress of the BC layer decreases with the increase in heat exposure time independently of the heat exposure temperature. Shear strength decreases monotonically with the increase in heat exposure time. As for the specimens heat exposed at 1423 K, interfacial shear strength decreases gradually than the specimen heat exposed at 1173 K.
