摘要

In recent years, the quick adoption of Big Data technology has led to the apparition of a wide landscape of technologies and applications. Together with a wide variety of devices, including sensor-enabled smart devices, and all types of wearables, connected to the Internet, vast amounts of data are powering newly connected applications and solutions. From real-time information to purely digital environments, like social media where all information is stored in the Cloud have led to the apparition of new expressions such as Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, Big Data, Cloud Computing or Fog Computing among others. Given the necessity to obtain faster and deeper insights related to business objectives from these data, there is a special interest in reducing the effort of integrating, processing, and understanding Big Data. In this sense, conceptualization and methods to effectively model and manage Big Data have led to the apparition of new ways of analyzing Big Data. Thus, the objective of MoBiD'18 is to be an international forum for exchanging ideas on the latest and best proposals for modeling and managing big data in this data-driven paradigm. The workshop is a forum focused on the use of the conceptual modeling approaches for the development of new applica-tions based on Big Data, where researchers and practitioners are invited to exchange ideas and present their novel methodologies.
