摘要

The Kobe Nagata Tunnel of Hanshin Expressway Co.’s Kobe Yamate Line is a 4.0 km long tunnel in two sections of two tubes each. The first 2.2 km long section of two tubes was opened to the public in 2003. The remaining 1.8 km long section has been added to connect to the Kobe Line. Five jet-fans are installed in the extension of the tunnel to prevent leakage of polluted air from the exit portal due to the piston force of traffic. The five jet-fans employ, for the first time, variable-speed operation driven by inverters tornachieve energy savings. This paper describes the objectives of using inverter-driven jetfans, the practical deployment process, and full-scale measurements in the tunnel.
