The present paper is aimed at showing the application of the concept of efficiency inrncomparing three different transverse ventilation designs, their efficiency in optimalrnconditions, and also their robustness to errors in fire localization, by running severalrnsimulations on these systems. This influence of the airstream velocity in the tunnel andrnthe extracted air volume flow are examined. Practical recommendations are given inrnterms of acceptable error on fire localization.
