Testing a high capacity filter cartridge is much more complicated than testing thernperformance of a standard 2.5 inch diameter filter. This article deals with thernvarious factors that are associated with conducting a full scale test that involvesrnflow rates as high as 800 gallons per minute, test dust capacities of up to 300rnpounds, and test pressures of 50 psid.rnThe FTC Test Lab utilizes a 6' flow loop, twin 420 gpm centrifugal pumps, 1100rngallon water storage tank, 90 gallon contaminant tank complete with injectionrnpump, flow meters, and pressure sensors. This lab can run gravimetric analysis,rnturbidity, and particle size distribution.
