There are (3) levels of CBM that can be supported by monitoring the operational pressure drop across the in-system filter element:rnThe most basic level is being able to indicate the filter element's terminal differential pressure. Any differential pressure monitor must be capable of validation in the operating system to support this minimum CBM need.rnContinuous monitoring of the filter element's pressure drop would enable remaining life to be projected, providing mission availability and advanced maintenance scheduling.rnThe fluid system's operating condition can be determined bv continuous differential pressure monitoring and comparing these values to the filter element's pressure rise profile. This method can confirm normal fluid system operation or provide early identification of a system fault.
