摘要

Recent research on fleet management has revealed that effective management of fleet assets must consider life cycle costs and utilization of those assets. Understanding the costs associated with owning (or leasing) and the rates of utilization should lead to the ability to predict an economic life cycle and determine an optimal fleet size for a given class of assets. In the case of state governments, having a plan that could optimize the size of fleets and asset replacement makes good fiscal sense. This paper reports the findings of research on management of snowplow assets in Minnesota.
