This paper will examine re-tooling the cost-collection strategy used for decades in industrial firms to a form that could be useful to engineering firms. This strategy is called the cost-of-quality and is defined as all costs over an above the cost of delivering value to the client on-time and without error. It includes the cost of preventing, finding, and correcting defective work.
