摘要

In the process of adapting and re-designing the Ferrari Formula 1 gear changing system to their GT cars, the changes are tested by Ferrari test drivers. This user trial shows that the test drivers act in a very similar way. Given the flexibility of humans, their various preferences and their ability to adjust, it is not likely that the interior alone, as a working space, forces the drivers to behave in this specific way. Presumably, the test drivers have learned to drive the car in a particular way, which is, according to Ferrari, the only right way! It remains to be seen whether the ergonomic design policy adopted by Ferrari can be sustained in an expanding market for their sports cars.
