At the heart of the debate of Government complicity in the UFO cover-up at Roswell, and more broadly with highly credible UFO related activity, is the existence of a blue ribbon panel of military and scientific minds code-named Majestic 12 or MJ-12. For more than two decades there have been documents: some photocopies, some undeveloped film and some original papers that tell the detailed story of explicit involvement and extreme military and government secrecy toward UFOs. Not only are documents in the public domain, but living witnesses also corroborate the documents, the military procedures and the long-standing cover-up — which the vast majority of Americans believe. Mr. Wood will present the results of his investigation into two leaked original documents comprising over 342 pages of Top Secret MJ-12 material. The authentication principles of provenance, paper and ink analysis, content analysis, authenticity "zingers," and anachronisms will all be discussed. The first document titled "An Encyclopaedia of Flying Saucers" by Vernon Bowen, is a well-written book, fascinating for its sidebar comments unique to the field of ufology. The other is a twelve-page memo allegedly from CIA director Allen Dulles that sets up a series of eight directives concerning the government's handling of the UFO problem, which is considered a "National Security Threat." On original onionskin, watermarked paper with numerous authenticating markers, the document is either real or faked by a major intelligence agency. With nine new code words, unusual methods were taken to determine the true nature of these historical code word projects. The implications and conclusions may suggest a different interpretation of history.
