Recently, a method was proposed for solving the pure end condition problem of a semi-infinite elastic cylinder. This has been a long standing problem in the dynamic theory of linear elasticity. The method employed decomposed the pure end condition problem into two mixed end condition problems then superposed their solutions. On each of the mixed end condition problems a double transform technique is used then inverted asymptotically. An alternate implementation of the double transform solution is presented for the problem previously solved. The method can then be extended to solve the pure end condition problem. Our implementation will not use asymptotic methods for inversion of the integral transforms. This removes the restriction on the existing solutions that acceptable errors are reached only beyond 10-20 diameters along the length of the cylinder. Thus, the method is more suitable for thick cylinders where measurments must be taken much closer to the end of the cylinder.
