摘要

A new quantitative acoustic microscopy technique was developed. The new technique has several advantages over the conventional method. The data can be collected using a pulsed ultrasonic system. The new method does not require the use of a reference material or calibration of the system's electronics to compute the SAW velocity. Measurement of Rayleigh wave velocity is performed in an automated way with user intervention only during the setup phase. Therefore, the new technique enables one to obtain maps of the Rayleigh velocity over an area of the specimen under examination.
