Effective wetting additives enhance the performance of pressure sensitive adhesives. Thernreduction of surface tension provides substrate wetting properties required for bonding andrncoating low surface energy substrates. The use of anionic, low surface tension additives tornimprove substrate wetting and adhesive strength of aqueous acrylic copolymers systems isrnfeatured in this presentation. Adhesive strength data show that optimal use levels for thesernanionic wetting additives to be as low as 0.05% by weight. Adhesive strength results arerncompared to current wetting additive technology. A new no VOC wetting additive is presented.
