摘要

The operating overvoltage appears when a circuit breaker, especially a high-vottage circuit breaker is opening and closing, which causes strong Electro Magnetic Iinterference (EMI) and even damage to power and electric equipments near the circuit breaker. In this paper the factors which create operating overvoltage are analyzed. Based on the breakdown theory of critical electric strength, the sensitivity of the gap between open contacts to non-uniform coefficient of electric field is considered, the characteristics of dielectric recovery are calculated, the methods of reducing or avoiding operating overvoltage are put forward, which are realized by the changing the simplex moving characteristics of circuit breaker, such as the initial phase confirmed in closing, the current phase selected and the diameter of the drain oil aperture of operating mechanism adjusted in opening of intelligent operation circuit breaker.
