Waves propagating across fractured rock masses are attenuated due to the presence of fractures. The paper presents a theoretical study on small-amplitude one-dimensional P-wave attenuation across multiple parallel fractures with linear deformational behavior. Combined with displacement discontinuity theory, where the linear model is adopted in this chapter, the method of characteristics is used to develop a set of recurrence equations with respect to particle velocities and stresses before and after fractures. Then, these equations are numerically solved with sufficient accuracy. The magnitude of transmitted coefficient |T_N| is a function of nondimensional fracture spacing ξ - ratio of fracture spacing to the wavelength, normalized stiffness K and number of fractures N. Two important indices of ξ , threshold value ξ_(thr) and critical value ξ_(cri), are identified and they divided the area of ξ into three parts: individual-fracture area, transition area and small-spacing area. In different areas, tendencies of |T_N| with ξ and N are different. Furthermore, Values of ξ_(thr). and ξ_(cri) vary with K and N.
