摘要

Photocatalytic degradation of pollutant over irradiated semiconductors is a promising technique of pollution abatement. Due to its high stability, non-toxicity and relatively low price, TiO_2 has been employed as the photocatalyst in vast majority of current studies. However, it requires UV light to be excited and become capable of photo-reaction. UV radiation requires additional sources of energy, and it is also harmful to living species. Therefore, the development of new semiconductor photocatalysts that have high activity under visible light has received great attention. In this study, several transition-metal-substituted titania-loaded MCM-41 specimens were synthesized and the photocatalytic activities of these catalysts for degradation of organic compounds in visible light were examined.
