As the treatments of tunnel passing through karst cave are mostly based on the practice, a theoretic calculated method is adopted to study the problem in this paper. Based on a typical example of double span tunnel which passing through the karst cave with an arched girder at the bottom of it, the method of how to establish the calculated model and how to determine the calculated load are probed, the safety standard of arched girder is put forward, and the safety of the example is judged according to the standard. Then the relationship between the strength of the filler in the karst cave and the internal force and displacement of the arched girder are discussed, the mechanics state and the safety of the arched girder will be improved when the filler in the karst cave are reinforced.
