Ultrahigh molecular weight acrylic copoiymer emulsions were produced in deoxygenated system by use of a extremely small quantity of initiator in industrial scale. Ultrahigh molecular weight polymer emulsions of lower Tg polymer showed improved film properties as had been expected. On the other hand, that of high Tg showed the poorer film properties, which were ascribed to hindrance of inter-diffusion of polymer particles caused by ultrahigh molecularity.Advantage was taken of above-mentioned performance in application to pressure-sensitive-adhesive, and binder for soft non-woven-fabric.
