摘要

Turbine blade is one of the most critical components of a turbine unit that must be properly addressed in an NDE program in order to improve reliability or extend an outage interval. The stress analysis is performed for an aid in determining which blades and which areas of the blades must receive careful attention during the inspection process. The fatigue cracking tests are performed using actual blades for understanding of the mechanism of root attachment cracking. To increase the reliability and sensitivity of the in-service inspection process, ultrasonic testing is performed using several probes for the electro-discharge maching notches in the actual blade roots.
