Ampacimon is a new device for in span real time easurement of power line mechanical data (sag, ibrations, and movements). It has been installed on 20 kV line with full success. One important feature which has been solved was related to strong electromagnetic fields. Autonomy of the system has been easily obtained by energy harvesting from the power line itself. Data processing has been developed to evaluate real time frequencies which are at the base of our diagnosis. Ampacimon is a registrated trademark and both device and methods have been patented in September 2005. The sag evaluated by ampacimon only differs from less than one percent from the one measured by topographers. This validates our approach to deduce sag from frequencies only. Useful information on the equivalent stiffness of the system or on the conductor apparent weight of the conductor at the place where the conductor is can be deduced from an analysis of the odd frequencies.
