This paper presented a simple TFI control concept to identify transfer functions. Single sine waves were written to the limited memory of a controller and used to determine punctual gain and phase. It was shown how to adapt the input signal based on the last output signal to receive maximal resolution and how the TFI control handles resonance frequencies. Different optimization criteria and further advantages were discussed. At the same time, it must be clear that the time effort is much higher. Depending on the frequency resolution, the communication interface, pause times, the number of settling sine waves and some more parameters a transfer identification process with this method offers high quality but might need much more time than using sine sweep. In this context one should consider whether high frequency resolution is required and which identification method might be optimal.
